It was dark...so the flashlight beam was a bit jarring...and this 20-something policeman was very interested in when our last drink was....I can only imagine that my breath was yummy...what with garlic...jade tea house cake and....red wine!!!!
The saving grace was that when asked for my license...which was in the back...I was able to recite my ODL#2424587 ....something you might all want to work on!!! And, FYI...another trick is dropping the name "Lieutenant Doug Sweet"...my buddy and (luckily) his boss.......whoops
.....so, picture the odd look on his face as he watched Shannon....gathering her basket of mossy twigs and veggie starts...and walking toward "some home" (which was hers...I just am not sure he believed us...)
this morning we are smirking...and luckily, reflecting...imagine, however, how fabulous that jail cell in Clackamas County would be with an espalier tomato wall...a couple of great design books...some twigs and.....gosh...do you think our marigold starts would get rid of THOSE insects???
To all of you...thank you for your love for the extraordinary...in design-garden-home-life...for taking our "tasks for the night" and actually turning them into "lessons to learn and love by"!!!
I will be thinking of all of you...in La Paz......Napa....France...
